Last and arguably best in Bethesda’s Wayne Gretzky Hockey series, Wayne Gretzky Hockey 3 continues the legacy of its predecessors with even better VGA graphics, more player stats, and longer league play. As with earlier games in the series, WGH3 excels in both coaching and playing department, with very smooth graphics, solid player controls, and a challenging AI that reacts quite reasonably to your tactics. The league play offers longer play value, and the game can integrate with Bethesda’s Hockey League Simulator 2, a great simulation package that will please all statistical-minded fans. Definitely a must have, and an overlooked classic that few hockey games have rivalled since. Thumbs up!
